End-of-year is festive season and the amazing Indian festival of lights (Diwali) is almost here. It is said that the Goddess of wealth "Lakshmi" visits people's homes during Diwali. To welcome her, people clean their homes, light up charming light lamps and set-up colorful garlands on doors.
So, for this Diwali, my daughter and I created this leaf garland for our house. It is such a simple craft to make, my daughter had a great time playing with the leaves and putting a thread through them.
Two-year-olds have infinite energy and engaging them in festive crafts is a great way to teach them about the festival while helping them develop their creativity and keeping them away from the screen. Try it out - we now have a lovely paper leaf garland to welcome Goddess Lakshmi this Diwali.
This also makes for a nice and colorful fall theme craft.
