It's important to educate young minds about recycling, reusing and reducing as much as possible so they develop empathy for the planet and all other life in it.
Reusing can take many forms, like in this craft, we leveraged newspapers to create lovely flower petals.
This also makes for a creative educational activity where children learn the art of making something out of imagination using something completely different.
All in all, a good activity for children and creating a nice showpiece reused art for the home.

MATERIALS:
Newspaper
Cardstock Paper
Paper Straw
Decorative Paper Edge Scissor
Stapler
Glue
Scissor
INSTRUCTIONS:
1. Cut 6 strips of approx 6 inches each from a newspaper or magazine. Trim both the ends making them a little circular.
2. Staple all the paper strips together as shown below.
3. Cut a circular shape from colored cardstock paper using a decorative paper edge scissor.
4. Glue the cardstock circle to the stapled paper strips.
5. Tape/Glue a paper straw to the back of the flower.
