Children have a special fascination for surprise acts. Consider Peek-a-boo, such a simple surprise act but never fails to evoke a squeal of laughter - again and again.
One other such surprise act and now our tots favorite toy, is the spring-a-surprise box toy. Since making this, our toddler has sprung the surprise on us parents countless times never getting tired and laughing like a riot.
So for this Halloween, go make your own spring-a-surprise craft and watch your kids have a lot of fun. If you like the scarecrow, you can follow the instructions below to get yours made in under 30 minutes.
Happy Scare-crowing!
We enjoy crafting for Halloween making every spooky and mysterious creature associated with the festival cute and fun for kids. Last year, we made this magical Black Cats Craft - this animated paper plate craft is such a creative idea showcasing the stunning black cats with glowing eyes in the mystical night.
And these Cardboard Tube Monsters are super adorable. They are so easy for toddlers, preschoolers and kindergarten kids to make. Love how cute they turned out. For more spooktacular ideas, don't forget to follow our HALLOWEEN CRAFTS board on Pinterest.

4. Glue a few leaves on the scarecrow as shown.
5. Add a few 1-inch strands of raffia ribbon on both sides of hat making the scarecrow hair. And the scarecrow is ready.
6. Time to make the paper spring. Cut two paper strips and glue them perpendicularly. Start folding the alternate strip.
This is how it will look.
We had to make three of them and glue them together to fit in the box.
7. We used an old jewellery box and decorated it with washi tape. You can also use a paper mache box.
8. Glue the paper spring in the box. Tip: Use masking tape to test first before you permanently glue the spring in the box.
9. Glue the scarecrow face to the spring. Tip: Use masking tape to test first before you permanently glue the face.
