Ninja Father's Day Card for Kids

My husband loves everything, Ninja. He has watched all episodes and read the manga for over 5 - 7 Japanese shounen series over the last 10 - 12 years. He says that Ninja’s are not just about fighting.

They are about self-discipline and protecting the innocent, which is a great model for kids to learn about.

So, this year on his birthday, we decided to surprise him by making a ninja card! Our daughter then wrote a lovely message inside in her own inimitable style to wish her Papa Ninja. This will make an adorable father's day craft too.

Colorful Handprint Holi Card

The Indian festival of colors, Holi, is just around the corner. This year, Holi, will be on 8th March, 2023.

On this day, people of all ages come together to put beautiful colors on each other using natural or artificial powders and paints. Kids fill up water balloons and pichkari (water syringes) to splash their friends and sometimes even strangers!

Adults usually play with colors in the morning and then spend the afternoon and evening with friends and family over lunch and oral, board or card games. It is a time of fun and enjoyment for everyone. Anyone who has played Holi will usually have fond memories of it lasting years.

To commemorate this year's Holi festival, we decided to make a super easy yet colorful handprint Holi card.

Paper Leaf Garland

End-of-year is festive season and the amazing Indian festival of lights (Diwali) is almost here. It is said that the Goddess of wealth "Lakshmi" visits people's homes during Diwali. To welcome her, people clean their homes, light up charming light lamps and set-up colorful garlands on doors.

So, for this Diwali, my daughter and I created this leaf garland for our house. It is such a simple craft to make, my daughter had a great time playing with the leaves and putting a thread through them.

Two-year-olds have infinite energy and engaging them in festive crafts is a great way to teach them about the festival while helping them develop their creativity and keeping them away from the screen. Try it out - we now have a lovely paper leaf garland to welcome Goddess Lakshmi this Diwali.

This also makes for a nice and colorful fall theme craft.
